Do You Believe? We Need You!

Do you believe in what we are doing? Do you understand why we are going to Changsha? Do you know that we are depending on YOU to partner with us in this journey God has called us to? We know God is calling us to Changsha, but for us to live there, we need your support. Not just prayerfully, but financially. This isn't going to be my favorite, or easiest, blog to write, but it is probably going to be the most important one I write. We are counting on YOU! Here is what it breaks down to:

$1.15/day  or   $35.00/month   or   $420/year
100 people to commit to this for us for 2 years

We are confident there are 100 of you out there that can afford this. Just over a dollar day for our family to serve the abandoned, disabled children of China. Just over a dollar a day so we can help train and educate the Chinese locals so that, in time, they will all be self-sufficient and not need foreigners to come in to care for their children. Just over a dollar day to help save lives - lives that cant save themselves. Just over a dollar day. That is less then a Timmies or Starbucks coffee per day. One less eat out dinner for your family per month. One less T-shirt or pair of pants for yourself per month. One less video game. Just one of these 'lesses' for you will give us so many more 'mores' for the Kingdom of God. 

It is easy. Go HERE, fill in the blanks, submit the form then send an email to canada@chinaconcern.org and let them know (right now the contact person is Jacqueline) that you sent in a donation (one time or monthly) for the Inkpens. That's it. Your done. Its that simple!  

We need you to do this now! I know we aren't planning on leaving until August, but in order to go we must have a minimum of 70% of our support in place. 

100%, yes 100%!, of the money you support us with goes directly to us!! No admin fees, no 'fine print'. It all goes to support the work we are doing in Changsha. The support you send us will sit in an account for us at ICC Canada until we get on the field. It is for us and wont go anywhere else.

If you can only support us $10 a month, that's great! If you can support us $100 a month, that's just as great! No amount is too small or too large. EVERY dollar counts! EVERY dollar helps us help the unwanted. EVERY dollar helps us do what God has asked of us. EVERY dollar is needed and wont be wasted! 

Time For Some FUN!!!!

I dont remember when the last time was that I posted, but I'm sure its time for another post. Things are progressing nicely...passports are back, blood work & ECG's are done for our visa's, Andrew's x-rays are done (Brendin and I still need to get ours done) and Andrew and Brendin have had their medicals done (I get mine done the end of March). Slowly everything is coming into place. Will be nice when this part is done!


Now its time to focus on having some FUN!!!! Last month my friend had a Stella & Dot trunk show for me as a fundraiser. Thanks to everyone who came and/or ordered on behalf of the show. We were able to raise some support money plus I got some wonderful items for our next fundraiser. Wondering what that is? Okay, not all of you are wondering, as the majority of you probably know already, but you get to hear about it again :) We are having a Chinese dinner and auction night on April 28! Here are the details:

We will be having a live and silent auction as well as live entertainment!! Some of you know of the band ToDieFor...some of the members will be playing for us for this event. Definitely the lead singer will be there and hopefully 2 other of the band members. You can check them out here. They are fantastic. You can also check them out on YouTube and on iTunes (their first release is called Dying to Live). 


So that is the event. We're expecting it to be an awesome night. We have some great things up for auction. A week in Fairmont. Dinner theater tickets. Tupperware. Stella & Dot jewelry. And more!! There is a great team working on making this FUNdraising event a huge success for us. However, it can only be a huge success if y'all come out and enjoy the evening! If you cant join us, please pray for the event. 


Another fun thing we are planning is a family road trip from here to Newfoundland. It is approximately 6100km - one way. I know most of you probably dont have fun, road trip and 4 kids all in the same sentence, but we do!! We took a road trip to Florida in 2010 and it was the best trip ever! So, we are sure this trip will be just as great. We have decided to take the month of July to travel. By driving, we will get a chance to see family and friends along the way. We are hoping to see the Riddell's, Conway's, Shield's, Westaway/LaFleur's, Steph (while she is in CAN) plus all our family. If you are listed in our 'hoping to see' group, take this as a BIG hint that we want to see you before we move!!! LOL


That seems to be all the fun I can squish into one blog entry. Hope the majority of you reading this can join us for our dinner/auction fundraiser. We are really looking forward to it!
